I am a passionate and enthusiastic musician and music tutor with more than fifteen years of teaching experience. I envision music as a powerful tool to inspire, support and transform the lives of individuals and to improve communities, whether it is perceived as a profession, a hobby or an essential form of expression. Here is why my work experience ranges in very diverse environments from community work to higher Education, and with students of all ages, levels and backgrounds.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CPD:

In 2015 I was awarded the SGAE Integral Scholarship to fund my MA in Songwriting at Bath Spa University. I completed the course with Distinction.

I received first-class for my degree in Music Performance at Escola Superior d'Estudis Musicals (Barcelona, 2013), where I studied voice and guitar.

I hold a Higher Education Diploma in Jazz and Commercial Music Composition from the Taller de Músics de Barcelona in association with UPC (Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya).

In addition, I trained with exceptional private teachers and musicians for more than ten years.

Furthermore, between 2004 and 2018 I was a student and a member of the GICC (Group of Investigation of the Corporal Circuits). I trained in the Corporal Circuits technique, and I conducted my research into the voice and its relationship with the body. The skills that I gained at GICC helped me strengthen my professional performance, including teaching techniques. Furthermore, I wrote a paper called 'De La Voz A La Canción' (from The Voice to the Body) which was published by GeiFC in 2014.

Finally, due to my commitment to working in educational settings, I receive regular training and CPD in safeguarding and student's well-being.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

I started teaching in 2004, while I was still studying, at Sant Pol's music service near Barcelona, Spain. It was a community focused school and students ranged all ages, from early years to adults. During the seven years I worked there, I taught guitar, voice, and whole class music theory throughout. I was also in charge of re-adapting the classical and electric guitar curriculums and elaborating the music theory program. Other duties consisted in organising and participating in events and concerts with the students. Between 2005 and 2007 I was elected Head of Studies, which gave me the chance to know more about the school's structure and gain experience liaising with staff members and students.

After the school's closure due to privatisation, I worked at St. Susanna music studio, near Barcelona, where I taught guitar and singing to children and young people, helped to design music programs and to organise concerts.

In 2014 I was offered to work at the prestigious Taller de Músics de Barcelona, where I had completed my studies previously, teaching voice to higher education students. I developed individual plans for every student to help them achieve their goals while applying to the school's study plan. This job led to another teaching opportunity that year, when Taller de Músics and Barcelona City council offered me the chance to participate in their new social project 'Cabal Musical'. This project aimed to support musicians and music bands from deprived areas of the city and young people at risk of exclusion, by providing music and admin training, assisting in rehearsals, helping them produce and record their music and audiovisual materials, organising gigs... All in all, to help them step into the music industry.

I had to leave Taller de Músics, due to moving to the UK to study the MMus in Songwriting. I kept working for 'Cabal Musical' until 2019, when I stopped participating in the project due to not being able to adapt to their schedule.

In the last few years I broadened my teaching, being privileged to work with young people with complex social and psychological needs, as well as SEND students. These experiences, together with working alongside music therapists and well-being professionals, have expanded my vision and resources in art and education.

For the last three years, I worked for an organization called 'Kandu Arts for Sustainable Development' in Chippenham, Wiltshire. This is an educational alternative that uses creative disciplines such as visual arts and music, as well as sport and crafts, to support young people who can't attend mainstream education or need extra support aside from school.

My work with them involved facilitating music lessons, both one-to-one and in groups, for young people and providing pastoral support. During that time, I worked with children and young people with very diverse needs and backgrounds, including children in care and children with special needs. I also helped organise music events and performed at them accompanying young people and adults. Additionally, I oversaw running the music studio and recording music for community members regularly.

In 2023, I started teaching guitar, voice and leading Open Orchestras with SEND students through Bristol Beacon. Working in Open Orchestras, I assist young people in allowing them to find their preferred instrument(s) and progressively join the group to start playing collectively. I adapt the repertoire to their needs and musical preferences.

MUSIC INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

I have experience as a performer, arranger and music producer. I have experience performing my own music as well as for other artists. I played extensively in Catalonia, and in different cities of Spain such as Madrid and Bilbao. In 2012 I recorded a live performance for TV3. In 2013 I was awarded as best solo artist by ASMUCA musicians association and 2nd prize at Acústica music contest in Barcelona. I have published four EP as a singer-songwriter, and an acoustic guitar solo LP so far. This year I recorded a new LP that will be released in 2025.

As a session guitarist I have accompanied several singers and bands in Spain and the UK. I have experience recording at professional studios in Europe, UK and Australia. Due to working with sound engineers, I gained valuable technical skills along the way.

I also have experience as an arranger and producer. I have worked with several artists, and created music for podcasts, videos, and different media. I also do post-production and have worked online for businesses in Europe, the UK, US and Asia.

As an employee, I am currently working part-time at KWS Blank Canvas Music, a small music publisher in Bath. I create arrangements for songs and music pieces for briefs, as well as to provide guitar session work and help with different creative aspects.

I am confident that my qualifications, experience, and passion for music education make me an excellent candidate to offer music lessons. I am eager to contribute my skills and knowledge to your organization and help create a positive and inspiring learning environment for students.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my experience in the field.
